Getting to Japan – the major international airports in Japan are those in Tokyo – Narita International Airport, and Haneda Airport, and Osaka – Kansai International Airport. Nagoya’s Chubu Airport and Fukuoka Airport on Kyushu, and Chitose airport near Sapporo in Hokkaido are other smaller airports that also receive a substantial number of international flights. Entry to Japan – In the coronavirus era, entry requirements have frequently changed. Usually, to enter Japan you must have a valid passport. US, Australia, UK, Canadian, and New Zealand passport holders do not typically require a visa for entry into Japan for tourism visits of less than 90 days. On entry to Japan all foreign nationals are fingerprinted and photographed. Arriving passengers who do not agree to fingerprinting and photograph are not allowed entry into the country. You may be subject to temperature checks and testing on arrival.
